Adrien Broner facing assault and robbery charges
Four-weight world champion Adrien Broner (31-2, 23 KOs) faces assault and robbery charges in his hometown of Cincinnati.
American Broner, 26, who is scheduled to defend his WBA light welterweight title against Britain's Ashley Theophane on April 1, allegedly assaulted and robbed a man outside a bowling alley in January, according to a report in the Cincinnati Enquirer.
They say police have issued a warrant for his arrest.
The alleged assault is reported to have taken place after a gambling dispute in which Broner pulled a gun before punching the man unconscious and taking $12,000 from the victim's pocket.
It is not known if Broner's world title fight with Theophane at the DC Armory in Washington DC will go ahead as planned.
