In a shocking upset, super middleweight contender Badou Jack (16-1, 9 KO’s) was blasted out in just one round by Derrick Edwards (26-3-1, 13 KO’s) on Friday night at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona, New York.

Floyd Mayweather was ringside to see his team member floored twice by Edwards and handed his first reverse.

Swedish-Gambian Jack was scheduled to fight Britain's James DeGale next.

On March 14, purse bids were due to happen for the right to stage the WBC final eliminator contest between the pair. Jack had expressed a wish for the fight to take place on the undercard of Mayweather v Maidana on May 3rd. Now that won’t happen.

Also on the Mayweather Promotions card, undefeated super middleweight J’Leon Love (17-0, 10 KO’s) halted Vladine Biosse (15-3-2, 7 KO’s) in the 10th round.
