Yoan Pablo Hernandez vs Victor Emilio Ramirez set for July 25
IBF cruiserweight champion Yoan Pablo Hernandez (29-1, 14 KOs) will defend his title against mandatory challenger Victor Emilio Ramirez (22-2, 17 KOs) on July 25 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Cuban Hernandez, now residing in Germany, has not fought since his points win over former WBA champion Firat Arslan last August due to a right elbow injury, but will now be travelling to the challenger’s backyard for his next defence. The champion will be making his fifth title defence and fighting outside of Germany for the first time.
Hernandez was scheduled to fight Ola Afolabi in December but pulled out due to the inury.
Former WBO champion Ramirez earned his shot by outpointing Afolabi in April to win the interim IBF cruiserweight title.
