Charlo dethrones Bundrage with third round KO
Jermall Charlo (22-0, 17 KOs) stopped fellow American Cornelius Brundage (34-6, 19 KOs) in the third round to win the IBF light middleweight title on Saturday afternoon at Foxwoods in Mashantucket, Connecticut.
Charlo floored the champion in the first, second and twice in the third before the bout was waved off at 2:33 of the round.
Also on the card, former WBO middleweight champion Peter Quillin (32-0-1, 23 KOs) knocked out Australian Michael Zerafa (17-2, 9 KOs) in the fifth round.
A crushing right hand ended the fight and Zerafa was taken from the ring on a stretcher.
American Quillin is now set to challenge WBA middleweight champion Daniel Jacobs on December 5.
