Chisora to face former world title challenger Kevin Johnson on February 15
Heavyweight contender Dereck 'Del Boy' Chisora (19-4) will box former world title challenger Kevin 'Kingpin' Johnson (29-4-1) on February 15th at the Copper Box Arena in London.
Johnson is coming off a points defeat to Christian Hammer (15-3) in December, and lost a wide UD to Tyson Fury (21-0) when the pair met in Belfast, back in December 2012.
Chisora had been scheduled to fight unbeaten Andriy Rudenko (24-0), but the Ukrainian ruptured his Achilles in training.
The Finchley fighter shares the bill with Fury, who faces Argentinian Gonzalo Omar Basile (61-8). Promoter Frank Warren ‘would like’ Fury-Chisora to be a WBO title eliminator at West Ham’s Upton Park stadium.
Fury had some stern words for David Haye (26-2), who twice pulled out of fights against him.
"He's a f**king b**ch and he wouldn't fight," stated Fury.
Also appearing will be Penge Welter Bradley Skeete (14-0), who takes on the highly experienced but probably past it former world champion Vivian Harris (31-9-2). Tyson's cousin, rising heavyweight Hughie Fury (12-0), will also be in action.
Canning town light welter Billy Morgan (9-0) gets his first real test against Enfield’s Michael Grant (13-4-1), Wise Guy Frank Buglioni (11-0) takes on Italian Gaetano Nespro (21-9-1) for the WBO European super middleweight title, and there’s a nights exercise for other members of Warren’s stable including Erith’s Lewis Pettitt (12-1), newly signing Tom Stalker (5-0), Islington’s Georgie Kean (2-0) and Irishman Steve Collins Jnr (3–0).
