De Carolis stops Feigenbutz to claim vacant WBA super middleweight title
Giovanni De Carolis (24-6, 12 KOs) stopped Vincent Feigenbutz (21-2, 19 KOs) in the 11th round of their rematch to win the vacant WBA super middleweight title on Saturday night at Baden Arena in Offenburg, Germany.
De Carolis was the busier throughout before a huge right rocked his German opponent, which was followed by a barrage of punches that forced referee Gustavo Padilla to step in and stop the contest at 0:32 of the 11th.
The Italian was claiming revenge on Feigenbutz, who won a controversial decision over De Carolis in a bout for the interim WBA title in October.
The WBA announced the rematch would be for the 'regular' WBA title after Andre Ward's move up to light heavyweight and Fedor Chudinov being elevated to 'super' champion.
Also on the card, British heavyweight Dereck Chisora (25-5, 16 KOs) scored a easy win with a second round stoppage of Hungary's Andras Csomor (14-9-1, 12 KOs).
