Joshua blasts out Cornish in one
Unbeaten British heavyweight Anthony Joshua (14-0, 14 KOs) demolished previously unbeaten Gary Cornish (21-1, 12 KOs) in 97 seconds on Saturday night at the O2 Arena in London.
The Olympic super heavyweight gold medalist sent Cornish to the canvas with a right hand moments into the fight. The Scotsman got back up but he was soon on the receiving end of more punishing punches and the second knockdown came from a short left before the referee waved off the bout.
With the win, Joshua won the vacant Commonwealth heavyweight title and retained his WBC International belt.
Also on the card, Dillian Whyte (16-0, 13 KOs) scored a third round KO over American opponent Brian Minto (41-10, 26 KOs).
Joshua and Whyte are now set to fight on December 12 in an all-British showdown.
