Khan set to fight Devon Alexander on December 13
Amir Khan (29-3, 19 KOs) will be facing former two division world champion Devon Alexander (26-2, 14 KOs) on December 13 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Khan-Alexander was set to fight for the IBF welterweight title last December, but the Briton opted out of a proposed bout in the hope he could land a mega-fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. However the undefeated American choose to fight Marcos Maidana instead.
Alexander faced Shawn Porter instead and lost a decision and his IBF title. The American southpaw bounced back with a strong performance in a 10-round decision victory against Jesus Soto Karass in June.
Khan returned from a 13-month layoff to easily outpoint former welterweight titlist Luis Collazo on the Mayweather-Maidana I undercard in May.
The winner of this fight will propel towards a fight with Mayweather next year.
Also on the card, welterweight contender Keith Thurman (23-0, 21 KOs) takes on European champion Leonard Bundu (31-0-2, 11 KOs) and WBO light middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade (21-0, 14 KOs) will be making his second defence against Jermell Charlo (24-0, 11 KOs).
