Viloria cant handle Shiming, says Arum
Top Rank promoter Bob Arum and trainer Freddie Roach are extremely excited about the debut of light flyweight Zou Shiming of China on Saturday in a scheduled 4 rounder against Mexican Eleazar Valenzuela (2-1-2) at the Cotai Arena, Macao, Macao S.A.R., China.
The 31-year-old Shiming is considered the main attraction for the card given Arum has placed the fight in China with thousands of Chinese fans having already purchased tickets for the card.
Super WBA and WBO flyweight champion Brian Viloria (32-3), who faces Juan Francisco Estrada (22-2) on the card, recently sparred with Shiming.
"Viloria can't handle him in sparring. Freddie is over the moon." Arum said.
Roach said "We're going to put him on the fast track because his experience is really, really that great."
Shiming captured the bronze medal in the Olympics in 2004, gold medals in 2008 and 2012. At 31, Shiming has to be brought along quickly by Top Rank because they don't have the time to bring him along slowly to have him fighting for a world title in four or five years.
Also on the card, WBO super featherweight champion Roman Martinez defends his title against Diego Magdaleno and former WBO super bantamweight champion Wilfredo Vazquez Jr takes on Yasutaka Ishimoto.
